Porter Foundation

Until 1973, Camp Kabeyun was entirely owned and operated by the camp's founder and director, John Porter. Inspired by a strong desire to assure the continuation of camp for as long as possible, John and his wife, Anna, established a foundation which would own and operate Camp Kabeyun.

The John and Anna Newton Porter Foundation is a non-profit foundation qualified under Section 501(c)(3) of the Internal Revenue Code. The foundation is incorporated in the State of New Hampshire.

The purpose of The Porter Foundation is to operate a summer camp for boys and/or girls and related programs to promote citizenship, character and leadership. An all-vounteer board of trustees, comprised of former Kabeyun campers, counselors and parents of Kabeyun campers governs The Porter Foundation.

Parents Love It!

Camp has taught Daniel that he "can do" and it taught me that I can "let go" and let him find himself. He is more confident and happier than he has been in many years.”

“The fact that Tom feels safe and encouraged to try new things and grow his boundaries is a testament to the positive environment you have created and the fantastic group of young men and women whose enthusiasm for adventure is being passed along to our growing boy. The positive, empowering influence of the counselors and staff is evident in Tom's character and we really appreciate each and every one of you.”
