Campers, counselors, parents, alumni... Join us for a great weekend as we work together to keep camp's buildings brown and weather-proof! RSVP below, and read on for details regarding the plan for the weekend.
As the temperatures begin to drop and the leaves fall from their branches, we prepare camp for the long, cold New Hampshire winter. Periodically, cabins need a new coat of "Cordovan Brown" stain, and that's the task that's ahead of us!
We'll get started around 10:00 am on Saturday, October 6th, with a hit list of cabins needing attention. Whether you're an accomplished, seasoned painter or never held a brush in your hand, it will make no difference – there'll be fun for all ages and abilities! And it won't be all about toiling. We'll break in the afternoon for some fun and relaxation – we'll have some boats in the water, frisbees for a round of disc-golf, a barbecue on the beach, and if the weather cooperates, a bonfire in big cove to round things out on Saturday night. Please be aware that the dining hall is closed for the season, so in the event of bad weather, there are few options for indoor space. This is a bare-bones time of year at camp!
If you're planning on staying overnight, cabins will be open for cozy overnight accommodations (bring your own bedding), or you can pitch a tent wherever you like. On Sunday morning, we'll have bagels, juice, and coffee, and folks can head out at their leisure.
Please bring your own lunch for the afternoon, we'll take care of dinner, and you should plan on supplying your own beverages. Bring plenty of clothes for work (that you don't mind getting some impossible-to-remove brown stain on!), for fun, and for warmth and dryness in case the weather isn't perfectly perfect. Don't forget a light source and sunscreen!
