On the last day of each Half Summer session you will have an opportunity to share your son’s Kabeyun experience with him in a day of celebration and pick-up. We will be sending a letter from camp detailing this plan, but here is an outline:
Families will be welcome to arrive at the end of breakfast and begin their visit. Counselors will be available to chat with parents about their son’s experience, and there will be activities available for families to enjoy together – boating, swimming, tennis, badminton, horseshoes… We will host a buffet lunch or barbecue and families will be asked to depart by about 2:00 in the afternoon.
The boys will be packed and ready to go the night before and we’ll encourage you to load his belongings into the car before lunch.
Another attraction of visiting days in the past has been the opportunity for families to see their sons in the play presented by the drama department. The play will continue to be staged on the third Saturday of each session. Families with boys in the cast or on the crew will receive an invitation in the second week of camp to come and see the show. If your son is involved with the play you’ll be able to join us for the evening of the show.
For returning families wondering about the rationale behind the change in our visiting day, please click here to read the letter from camp director, Chuck Mills.
