One day it's (finally) dumping snow and feels like winter has made a late but not totally unexpected arrival, and then it's over 60 degrees and feels, again, like spring is either just around the corner or here to stay. Does this crazy winter tell us anything about what kind of spring and summer is ahead of us?
With camp now just a shade over three months from starting, it's starting to ramp up, and instead of dedicating myself to the real pleasure of planning camp, I've been treated to our family's second move in less than 18 months. We had a nice stay in Harvard, MA, but we're settling quite nicely now in Kittery, ME. For those of you familiar with New England geography, that just turned my two hour commute to camp in to a hair under an hour. Upside!
But camp is happening in spite of my brief "holiday" to play with cardboard boxes and packing tape, U-Haul trucks and the northern reaches of Route 495. We've got another winter gathering happening on St. Patrick's day – will it be wintry, or will this be a spring preview gathering? Our staff is beginning to take shape with a nice mix of old and new. And enrollments are moving ever-closer to having us full each session – huzzah!
Summer really is starting to peek around the corner, so I hope camp is in your thoughts and plans this year, one way or the other!
